Brother Aaron Gardner, our oldest member and one of the original Hod Carriers that gave Hod Carriers and General Laborers Union Local 242 it's name, turned
100 years old on May 28th, 2009.
Local 242 members, friends and staff came together for a birthday party to honor Brother Gardner in early July.
He is a dedicated Union man who has been a member of Local 242 for 58 years.
He never moved his book during his entire construction career, which is something to be very proud of.

Aaron served time in the military during World War II before joining the Union.
He is very active in his church, and has many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to keep him busy.
Aaron talks often about his work in construction in the Seattle area, and is proud to have worked on numerous buildings that have helped to shape the
Seattle skyline.
People such as Aaron have helped to make Local 242 what it is today. We are very proud of Brother Gardner.
IT IS WITH SADNESS WE REGRET TO INFORM YOU THAT BROTHER GARDNER PASSED
ON MARCH 14, 2012 JUST SHY OF HIS 103RD BIRTHDAY. |
